[picture of Tim Flannery]Tim Flannery is known to most of us as the author of the two best-sellers: The Future Eaters and Throwim ‘way Leg. Both books have generated an unprecedented amount of interest from the scientific community and more general audiences. The three-part television series of The Future Eaters is currently showing on ABC television, 6.00 pm Sundays. The final part is programmed for Sunday, 30 August. Dr Tim Flannery is a Research Scientist and Head of Mammalogy at the Australian Museum. He has been appointed as the inaugural Chair of Australian Studies at Harvard University for 1998-99 and leaves Australia shortly after this session. Apart from The Future Eaters and Throwim `way leg Dr Flannery has published an impressive number of books and articles and has worked in a variety of media.
