Carolyn Mountford

Executive Director of the Institute for Magnetic Resonance Research. Carolyn’s research is the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging for the early detection of breast cancer. She was the inaugural winner of the ‘Unsung Hero of Science’ Award in 1995, an initiative of the Australian Science Communicators (ASC). It is given to the person judged to have made an outstanding contribution to science and to the effective communication of science.

Jan Forbes

Clinical Coordinator in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Technology, Sydney. Following extensive experience working as a registered nurse, Jan has worked as a nurse academic from the time that nursing entered the tertiary sector in 1985. Following an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science, Jan has embarked upon a Masters Degree in Nursing by thesis. Jan is an active member of the Palliative Care Association (NSW) and President of the Pain Interest Group–Nursing Issues (NSW).
